The conference is going to take place at the "Centro de Eventos Académicos y Extensión Cultural" in the city of Pucón, administered by our organization partner, Universidad de la Frontera.

Travel to Chile

The most convenient flight will be indeed to Santiago de Chile. After you arrive in the Capital, you can either fly or drive to Temuco. Pucón is located 90 km from the Araucanía International Airport (Temuco Airport), which translate into about an hour drive. You can take transfers directly from the aiport to any Hotel in Pucón.

From Europe

Most main international aiports in Europe have direct flights to Santiago (e.g., Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt am Main, Rome, Madrid). However, it is not uncommon to flight through Sao Paulo (Brazil).

From Northamerica

If you are flying from the United States there are five International Airports with direct flights to Santiago de Chile: Atlanta (GA), Houston (TX), Dallas (TX), Miami (FL) and New York, (NY). If you are flying from Canada, your flight would likely go through Toronto if not connecting with an international airport in the US. From Mexico, you can fly directly to Santiago via Mexico City.

Accomodation around Pucón

The range of prices one can find is suficiently wide for small-budgeted Ph.D. students to wealthy big-time spender Distinguished Professors. From less than $9 USD (about 8 Euros) for a shared room to $188 USD (about 174 Euros) for a single room at one of the several big Hotels of Pucón, many option can be found in between. A group of people might rent a Bungalows (called Cabañas) which can host between 4 to 8 people for a very reasonable price. Smaller Hotels/Hostels/Bed-and-Breakfast might offer option between $20 to $60 USD (18 to 55 Euros) per night.

Hotel Huincahue: only a few steps from the conference venue, the Hotel Huincahue offers rooms from USD $132 per night. Hotel Cumbres del Sur: 15 minutes walk (1.1 km) from the conference venue, the Hotel Cumbres del Sur has a special offer for ESLP participants; single rooms from USD $47 per night (38.000 CLP) and double rooms from USD $56 per night (45.000 CLP).
